Gli aeroporti, falsi come i messaggi pubblicitari, isole di relativa perfezione anche nello sfacelo dei paesi in cui si trovano, si assomigliano ormai tutti; tutti parlano nello stesso linguaggio internazionale che dà a ciascuno l'impressione di essere arrivato a casa. […]

Le stazioni invece no, sono vere, sono specchi delle città nel cui cuore sono piantate. Le stazioni stanno vicino alle cattedrali, alle moschee, alle pagode o ai mausolei. Una volta arrivati lì, si è arrivati davvero.
