Summary

According to the demand of alliteration, Old English poetry may show syntax and word order different from prose. Here I give a list of expressions found rather frequently in verse lines, mostly in a half-line unit, in relation to the verbs of motion. Boldface is used for an element, a vowel or a consonant with alliteration.
