It was barely after ten in the morning, and Highway Patrolman Charles Hanger was already having a busy day. About an hour before, an explosion had rocked the city, and he was ordered to connect with his command post there. But shortly after beginning his drive south, he was re-ordered to turn around and head back north; the command post in the city had all the help it needed. Hanger complied and turned around. There would be plenty more to do that morning.
