Despite the significant historic overlap between the fields, neurology and psychiatry today remain distinct specialties. However, the emerging field of neuropsychiatry may represent a natural response to this division, serving to combine theoretical approaches and create a comprehensive schema for a wide range of brain disorders. The articles in this thematic series highlight the fascinating conceptual intersection between the two fields and advocate for a necessary and revitalized paradigmatic blend of neurology and psychiatry.
