Review process

EJPR is a refereed journal. Submissions are considered on the understanding that the article is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts will be admin checked and distributed out to one of our nine editors. Manuscripts are allocated to an editor considering their subject specialisms, where they will then read and assess whether they are of sufficient quality and relevance to send out for double anonymous peer review. If so, submissions will be sent out with an aim to return three reviews from qualified scholars. Once the reviews are returned, the editors will determine whether submissions can be (a) accepted; (b) offered minor revisions; (c) offered major revisions; or (d) rejected. Submissions in category (b) will be given up to four weeks to finalise revisions. Submissions in category (c) will be given up to 6 months to finalise revisions. They will then be resubmitted to at least one of the original referees before the assigned editor is asked to make a final decision. Subject to editor schedules a final decision will be made two weeks after this final submission takes place.

Appeals

To appeal an editorial decision, contact the Editor and specify the reason for your appeal. Your appeal will be reviewed by the Editor together with another member of the editorial team who was not involved in the review of the manuscript. The final decision regarding your appeal will rest with the Editor.
