On February 4, 2006, after careful deliberation and consideration ofthe Association's Bylaws and the Council's charge as articulated byPresident Ira Katznelson, and after canvassing the membership forsuggestions as articulated in the APSA Constitution, the 2005–2006Nominating Committee submitted the following slate of electiveOfficers. In its deliberations, the Committee was mindful of givingdue regard to diversity, geographical distribution, fields ofprofessional interest, type of institution, academic/nonacademicemployment status, as well as to the Council's guidance to take intoaccount non-Ph.D.-granting institutions in the nomination ofcandidates, and to avoid selecting a nominee for president of thesame gender for more than two consecutive years.
