Hydrogen Bonding of Dalapon

Abstract

The hydrogen bonding of 2,2-dichloropropionic acid (dalapon) to N-methylacetamide (NMA) as a model protein was studied using infrared spectra. Changes in the spectra indicated that the dalapon carboxyl-OH, hydrogen bonds significantly to the model amide carbonyl.
