This volume is the result of four years of monthly Zoom meetings, lively discussions, and workshops in many inspiring locations. It would not have materialised without the active members of the Global Digital Human Rights Network (GDHRNet), many of whom are authors in this volume. Their expertise, research, and dedication have shaped this book, while non-author members have also played a crucial role by providing valuable feedback on chapters during workshops and discussions. The collective insights of the network have greatly informed the ideas and analyses presented here.

Special gratitude is owed to the COST Association (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), whose funding through COST Action CA19143 enabled the establishment of GDHRNet and made this collaborative work possible. COST support provided opportunities for research visits, conferences, and summer schools, which laid the ground for meaningful collaborations far beyond what we initially imagined. Additionally, COST funding covered the Open Access costs of this volume, ensuring that its findings and discussions are freely accessible to a global audience.

Sincere thanks are also due to Cambridge University Press for their guidance and support. The professionalism and dedication of the editorial team ensured a seamless and efficient publication process.
