In the original publication of Pomeroy (Reference Pomeroy2025), three corrections were not made:

  1. 1. The author’s email address is incorrect on the first page. It should read .

  2. 2. On page 23, “a Soviet submarine” should have been changed to “a Soviet ICBM.”

  3. 3. On page 29, the sentence: “A more sensible US policy would exhibit empathy for the concerns of a rising power, a wider historical perspective on a millennia-old country, and appreciation for the complexity of China’s domestic situation” should have been replaced with: “A more sensible US policy would prioritize the deliberative thinking that facilitates meaningful diplomacy.”

The publisher apologizes for these errors.
