She works in forensic psychiatry as a consultant at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK and is a Visiting Senior Lecturer in the Department of Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Science at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, Kings College London, London, UK. In 2019, Lade was awarded RCPsych's Psychiatrist of the Year, as well as a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to forensic intensive psychiatric care.
