Abstract

Recently, the well-studied consecutive-2 (out-of-n) system has been extended to the consecutive-2 link system, in which links are also part of the system and can be failed. Furthermore, links of the two types ii + 1 and ii + 2 are recognized to be different entities. We study the optimal assembly problem for the link system and obtain results that generalize previous results on the consecutive-2 system.
