Balázs Bárány and Boris Solomyak have drawn my attention to an error in my paper ‘Absolutely continuous invariant measures for some piecewise hyperbolic affine maps’ [Reference Persson1]. On page 225 of that paper, the estimate of $\mathcal {I}$ , which follows after the words ‘This can be estimated by’, is incorrect and hence so also is the proof of the main result of the paper. I have not been able to circumvent this problem, and the proof therefore remains incomplete.
