The Referendum Conundrum:Referenda orReferendums?

Abstract

Scholars often use referenda as the plural forreferendum. This choice is a hypercorrection—itmay sound like proper Latin, but it is not.Referendums is always the correct choice.However, we maintain that there is value in usingreferendums for multiple events andreferenda for multiple propositions.
