Amy Austin Holmes is Assistant Professor of Sociology at the American University in Cairo and Postdoctoral Fellow of International Studies at Brown University’s Watson Institute. She received her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. from the Freie Universität Berlin. Her work has been published in Mobilization, South Atlantic Quarterly, the Cairo Review of Global Affairs, the Baltimore Sun, Ahram Online, and the Atlantic Council. Her research interests include social movements, revolutions, critical security studies, and U.S. foreign policy in Europe and the Middle East.
