About Dr Stahl

Dr. Stephen M. Stahl is the author of over 500 articles and chapters, more than 2,000 scientific presentations and abstracts, and is an internationally recognised clinician, researcher and teacher in psychiatry, with subspecialty expertise in psychopharmacology. Board certified in psychiatry, Dr. Stahl has held faculty positions at Stanford University, the Institute of Psychiatry London, among others, and is currently an Honorary Visiting Senior Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. Currently serving as editor-in-chief of CNS Spectrums, Dr. Stahl has written 51 books and edited 15 others, including the best-selling, award winning textbook Stahl’s Essential Psychopharmacology (5th edition), and the clinical manual, Stahl’s Prescriber’s Guide (7th edition).

About the Illustrator

Nancy Muntner is the Director of Medical Illustrations for the Neuroscience Education Institute. She has been working with Dr. Stahl as a medical illustrator and animator for over two decades. Her medical illustrations are instantly recognizable by students and practitioners of mental health and psychopharmacology. Ms Muntner has achieved international recognition over her career, receiving multiple awards that she has shared with Dr. Stahl and the NEI. These include the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP) Lundback Foundation Award in Education, and the American Psychiatric Association/San Diego Psychiatric Society Education Award.
