Due to an oversight on the authors’ part, the coefficient $b_4$ in (3.9 a e ) of Shi, Climent & Legendre (Reference Shi, Climent and Legendre2024) was incorrectly typeset: it should be $-0.52$ rather than $-5.2$ .

Additionally, we have found that the sets of coefficients ( $a_n$ and $b_n$ ) given in (3.8) and (3.9) were overly rounded. For terms with $n \geqslant 3$ , it is necessary to retain at least two significant digits to maintain accuracy. Therefore, instead of the rounded values published in the paper, the following corrected coefficients should be used:

(3.8a–e) $a_0=+0.99,\,\,a_1=-2.21,\,\,a_2=+3.08,\,\,a_3=-1.75,\,\,a_4=+0.33; $
(3.9a–e) $b_0=-0.47,\,\,b_1=+3.92,\,\,b_2=-5.29,\,\,b_3=+2.86,\,\,b_4=-0.52.$

The fitted curves shown in panel $(c)$ of figures 4 and 5 in the paper are not affected by this error, as they were generated using the correct $a_n$ and $b_n$ values.
