All Articles, Squibs, Survey Papers and Position Papers submitted to NLP (including all submissions to special issues) will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 external reviewers. Papers submitted for special issues will undergo the same rigorous peer review process as standard-track papers.
Invited papers published as part of the journal’s columns (including the Industry Watch, Emerging Trends, NLP for Social Good, and Responsible NLP columns) are written by the Editors of the relevant column, are not externally peer-reviewed, and will only undergo editorial review before publication.
NLP only publishes invited Editorial Notes and Book Reviews, which are also not externally peer-reviewed and only undergo editorial review before publication.
Invitation to review
All authors of papers submitted to Natural Language Processing agree to be invited to peer review other journal submissions in their area(s) of expertise.
Co-reviewing policy
NLP allows co-reviewing. For more guidance on how co-reviewing works, please see the Cambridge Co-reviewing Policy.
