Design Science is an international open access journal publishing original quantitative and qualitative research in the creation of artifacts and systems, and their embedding in our physical, virtual, psychological, economic, and social environment.
Peer reviewed by an international editorial board, Design Science aims to serve as the archival venue of science-based design knowledge across multiple disciplines. The Journal will facilitate communication across diverse fields and will serve as a bridge across several communities, publishing original research with a strong emphasis on accessibility by scholars from a diversity of disciplines.

Co-Design with Non-Designers

  • This Thematic Collection offers a forum for design work on co-creation with non-designers, e.g., what methods and tools are suitable, and how design projects benefit from the involvement of non-designers. The collection aims at stimulating both research- and practice-oriented contributions in the domain of co-design and creating a forum for discussing relevant emerging issues. Submissions can be regular research papers or short design practice briefs.

Design Science Clusters of Merit

  • The DSJ Thematic Collection (TC) on Design Science Clusters of Merit (DSCM) comprises review papers on design research, education, or practice conducted by specific research groups associated with a particular institution. The collection aims to increase awareness and broad visibility of design science work worldwide in both academic and industry settings; and to highlight synergies across diverse research efforts that converge in realizing a contribution to design science.
