Abstract

Ecological affordances, as defined by Ko and Neuberg, are the opportunities and threats environments pose for goal achievement. We propose refining this view by framing affordances in terms of constraints on strategies for attaining goals. This approach clarifies how affordances capture the normative dimensions of opportunity and threat
