Extending affordance management to late adulthood: a critical gap target

Abstract

Ko and Neuberg’s affordance management framework compellingly addresses childhood, mating, and parenting stages but omits late adulthood – a phase defined by distinct environmental demands and adaptive goals. Including this stage would enhance developmental continuity and theoretical depth, aligning the model with empirical and evolutionary evidence on aging.
