Summary

Between 1948 and 1999, the relationship between the Supreme Court and the political system underwent a number of changes. To establish causal relationships between structural factors, such as the nature of the political, economic, and bureaucratic systems, the form of political participation, and the role of the Supreme Court in Israeli society, we will divide the five decades since the establishment of Israel to the end of the twentieth century (1948–1999) into four periods.
