EACHAM, Qld (ee-chăm), a shire (pop. 5135) to the east of atherton (map 5) and centred on malanda. It takes its name from lake eacham. Other localities in the shire are millaa millaa, Peeramon, Tarzali and yungaburra.

EAGLE FARM, Qld, an inner suburb of the City of brisbane just to the north-east of the city centre (map 23:C3). It was once a farming area worked by female convicts, and apparently there were many eagles in the vicinity. Eagle Farm Racecourse is not in the suburb of Eagle Farm, but in nearby ascot.

EAGLE HEIGHTS, Qld, 27 55S 153 12E (map 10), a town (pop. 822) in beaudesert Shire in the hinterland of the gold coast.

EAGLE VALE, NSW, an outer south-western Sydney suburb in the City of campbelltown (map 26:B5).

EAGLEBY, Qld, a south-eastern Brisbane suburb in the Shire of albert (map 23:D5).

EAGLEHAWK, Vic. 3644S 14415E (map 15), a borough (pop. 8184) 8 km by road northwest of bendigo.

EAGLEHAWK NECK, Tas. 4301S 14755E (map 7), a narrow isthmus linking forestier peninsula to tasman peninsula and a township on that isthmus. The isthmus is partly in sorell Municipality and partly in tasman. When port arthur was a penal establishment savage dogs were chained in a line across Eagle-hawk Neck to prevent escape to the mainland by the convicts.

EARL WOOD, NSW (erl-wood), a south-western Sydney suburb in canterbury Municipality (map 26:E3). It was probably named after Mrs Jane Earl, an early landowner there.
