Summary

NABAWA, WA (nab-ă-waw), 28 29S 11448E (map 2), a township in chapman valley Shire, of which it is the administrative centre. It is in the Northern Agricultural Region.

NABIAC, NSW (nabbee-ack), 32 06S 152 23E (map 11), a town (pop. 460) on the lower north coast. Most of it is in great lakes Shire, but the northern section is within the boundaries of the City of Greater taree. The poet Les Murray was born at Nabiac.

NAGAMBIE, Vic. (nă-gam-bee), 36 47S 145 10E (map 16), a town (pop. 1099) in goulburn Shire, of which it is the administrative centre. Its name is derived from a Thagungwurung Aboriginal term possibly meaning ‘lagoon’. Nagambie serves a district producing grain, wool, meat and wine. It was founded in 1868.

NAILSWORTH, SA (nayls-werth), an inner northern Adelaide suburb in the City of prospect (map 21 :D8).

NAIRNE, SA (nairn), 35 02S 138 55E, a town (pop. 889) in the district council area of mount barker (map 9) to the south-east of Adelaide. It was named in 1839 by Matthew Smillie in honour of his wife, Elizabeth Corse Smillie, nee Nairne.

NAKARA, NT (nă-kah-ră), a northern suburb (pop. 2297) of the City of darwin (map 19:C2).

NALBAUGH NATIONAL PARK, NSW (nal-bah), a mountainous area (3764 ha) some 26 km by road south-east of bombala (map 6B).

NAMADGI NATIONAL PARK, ACT (nămaj-ee), a reserve (94 000) comprising much of the Territory (map 22B).
