Abstract

Romantic relationships may matter more to men on average, but such gender differences are far from static. We commend Wahring et al. for their integrative framework and urge future research to consider age-graded, history-graded, and individually graded factors. Taking these contextual factors into account will improve our understanding of how romantic relationships matter across diverse life courses.
