We establish the inductive blockwise Alperin weight condition for simple groups of Lie type $\mathsf C$ and the bad prime $2$. As a main step, we derive a labelling set for the irreducible $2$-Brauer characters of the finite symplectic groups $\operatorname {Sp}_{2n}(q)$ (with odd q), together with the action of automorphisms. As a further important ingredient, we prove a Jordan decomposition for weights.

For numerical semigroups with a specified list of (not necessarily minimal) generators, we describe the asymptotic distribution of factorization lengths with respect to an arbitrary modulus. In particular, we prove that the factorization lengths are equidistributed across all congruence classes that are not trivially ruled out by modular considerations.

In this paper we study boundedness and compactness characterizations of the commutators of Cauchy type integrals on bounded strongly pseudoconvex domains D in $\mathbb C^{n}$ with boundaries $bD$ satisfying the minimum regularity condition $C^{2}$, based on the recent results of Lanzani–Stein and Duong et al. We point out that in this setting the Cauchy type integral is the sum of the essential part which is a Calderón–Zygmund operator and a remainder which is no longer a Calderón–Zygmund operator. We show that the commutator is bounded on the weighted Morrey space $L_{v}^{p,\kappa }(bD)$ ($v\in A_{p}, 1<p<\infty $) if and only if b is in the BMO space on $bD$. Moreover, the commutator is compact on the weighted Morrey space $L_{v}^{p,\kappa }(bD)$ ($v\in A_{p}, 1<p<\infty $) if and only if b is in the VMO space on $bD$.

Let $G(n)={\textrm {Sp}}(n,1)$ or ${\textrm {SU}}(n,1)$. We classify conjugation orbits of generic pairs of loxodromic elements in $G(n)$. Such pairs, called ‘nonsingular’, were introduced by Gongopadhyay and Parsad for ${\textrm {SU}}(3,1)$. We extend this notion and classify $G(n)$-conjugation orbits of such elements in arbitrary dimension. For $n=3$, they give a subspace that can be parametrized using a set of coordinates whose local dimension equals the dimension of the underlying group. We further construct twist-bend parameters to glue such representations and obtain local parametrization for generic representations of the fundamental group of a closed (genus $g \geq 2$) oriented surface into $G(3)$.

In this paper we obtain some improved $L^p$-Hardy and $L^p$-Rellich inequalities on bounded domains of Riemannian manifolds. For Cartan–Hadamard manifolds we prove the inequalities with sharp constants and with weights being hyperbolic functions of the Riemannian distance.

For a given inverse semigroup, one can associate an étale groupoid which is called the universal groupoid. Our motivation is studying the relation between inverse semigroups and associated étale groupoids. In this paper, we focus on congruences of inverse semigroups, which is a fundamental concept for considering quotients of inverse semigroups. We prove that a congruence of an inverse semigroup induces a closed invariant set and a normal subgroupoid of the universal groupoid. Then we show that the universal groupoid associated to a quotient inverse semigroup is described by the restriction and quotient of the original universal groupoid. Finally we compute invariant sets and normal subgroupoids induced by special congruences including abelianization.

Using a result of Vdovina, we may associate to each complete connected bipartite graph $\kappa $ a two-dimensional square complex, which we call a tile complex, whose link at each vertex is $\kappa $. We regard the tile complex in two different ways, each having a different structure as a $2$-rank graph. To each $2$-rank graph is associated a universal $C^{\star }$-algebra, for which we compute the K-theory, thus providing a new infinite collection of $2$-rank graph algebras with explicit K-groups. We determine the homology of the tile complexes and give generalisations of the procedures to complexes and systems consisting of polygons with a higher number of sides.
