How to access

Find out which access options are available for you and your institution to use for our eTextbook and Courseware solutions

Textbooks

To read eTextbooks, you will need to have access via your institutional library or by making an individual purchase.

Library Access

If you are accessing eTextbooks via your library, you will either be able to read online immediately using IP verification, or you will need to log in to a system such as Shibboleth or Athens. This will give you read-only access to our eTextbooks in your web browser.

For a personalised experience, and to use tools such as copy and paste, highlighting, and note-taking, log in using an individual account. You will be able to read any textbook that you have access to through your library, and any textbooks that you have purchased.

You can also download the Cambridge Spiral app and log in with your individual account to read books offline.

Individual Purchase

You can purchase perpetual access to a textbook by clicking ‘Add to cart’ beneath the eTextbook price on the left-hand side of a book page.

You can also purchase print eTextbooks by clicking ‘Add to cart’ beneath the print price on a book page. This option is available in the UK and Europe (excluding Russia and Ukraine). For customers outside these regions, you will see the option to ‘Buy print book’ which will take you to our Academic catalogue website to make a purchase.

Redeem an access code

If you have an access code, you can redeem it on the book landing page. First login to the site, then navigate to the book landing page and scroll to the Access Options box at the bottom of the page. You will see a box where you can submit an access code. You will receive an email confirmation when your access code has been successfully redeemed.

Please note that the access code box will not appear if you already have access to the textbook.

Courseware

If your class is using Cambridge courseware, you will either access the course directly from your Learning Management System or you will receive a direct link from your instructor.

From the course homepage, open your Courseware assignment. You will see your information and the course title. Click the ‘Proceed to Enroll’ button to see payment options. These include ‘I want to pay now’ ‘I have an enrollment code’ and ‘I want to start with a trial’.
